RJ Marx, Inc. specializes in making custom Gold Leaf graphics for fire truck manufacturers. The company wanted to show their graphics on a real truck, but they couldn't alienate any customers by choosing one manufacturer over another. So I modeled a 3D fire truck. This is probably one of the first 3D images I made professionally. At the time I didn't own any commercial software yet so I used the freeware programs Moray and POV-Ray to render it.

Without POV-Ray I wouldn't be doing artwork now. I had a summer job minding the computer lab in college. Hardly anyone used the lab in summer so I was free to play on the computers. I downloaded POV-Ray and started learning 3D before I even learned how to use Photoshop. I used POV-Ray for a long time before I could afford any "real" software.
